The STS are Scott's fastest, most powerful and responsive fly rods, and are recommended for all saltwater fly fishing situations. These rods excel in windy conditions where aggressive casting is required, and are considered the rods of choice in places such as the Florida Keys and Cape Cod. STS Saltwater rods are built with bombproof components. Reel seats are machined aluminum (not stamped), with Delrin inserts in the lock rings to ensure positive lockdown on the reel foot. Grips are made from Portuguese cork rings of the highest quality, stacked and glued individually, and turned by hand to perfection. No grip is more durable or more comfortable. Stripping guides have chromed stainless steel frames for maximum strength and Silicone Carbide inserts for extra-low friction. Super hard chrome snake guides are given an additional coat of epoxy under their feet to prevent salt corrosion. STS rods are built for speed and built to last. These rods range in size from a 9' 6wt. to a 9' 12wt. (3 piece). There is one 9'6 model, which comes in an 8wt. (4 piece).
