Fly fishing spot in Montana...

I am looking for a good fly fishing river in Montana. I am going out the first week in May. I have always fished the Bighorn River in Fort Smith. I am looking to try something different. Any suggestions, I would appreciate. Something within 3-4 hours max of Billings would be great. I am looking for large fish. Any spots or even names of good guides would help. Thanks.

You might consider northern Wyoming. The Cody area has some pretty good fishing, including Monster Lake. I doubt you will find bigger fish in the area! Of course it's also $200 per day. Casper is right at 4 hours from Billings and you can fish Gray Reef and the Miracle Mile. Big fish in those waters.

Montana wise you have the Stillwater, Madison, Yellowstone, and Gallitin all within 4 hours. The Yellowstone or Madison would be the best choice. The upper Missouri is close to 4 hours from Billings. All depends on how fast you drive!

I'm in Billings, so feel free to ask me more ????'s

Paul
